Isabelle Dunlop and various other musicians are Sex With Strangers
That is one talented group of people from Vancouver.

And they all rock live.
Tonight, Friday September 3, Guilty About Girls opens for the Yoko Casionos, who've reunited recently. It's an early show, so if you're reading this on Friday night you're probably missing it. Get on a bus (Vancouver style) to the Media Club.
Alright, now before you start reading this, click here, and open the link in a new tab to enjoy simultaneous listening and reading pleasure.
Yep, you've heard this on The Peak 100.5.
Guilty About Girls' music is based on an electronic dance beat and lyrics that remind me of Rivers Cuomo's journals. (Weezer) It's great music for dancing, and a sunny top-down drive through the city. Or rainy, as it will give you a lift on a grey Vancouver day.

This is an interview with Mark R Henning and Isabelle Dunlop. I spoke to them at the Railway Club just before they went on as Combine the Victorious.

Once I'd ordered my standard pint, I made my way over to Isabelle who I'd noticed was walking in my direction. Isabelle is a beautiful woman with natural artistry and an easy laugh. I stuck my hand out and said 'Hi, I'm Monika.' She wasn't quite sure what to expect from me, so I pulled out my nerdy list of questions, and it's a good thing I did because my mind went blank. She was easy to speak with though, right off the bat, and seemed completely in her element at a live music venue. Her Scottish accent only added to her charm, and I found myself feeling as if I were speaking with a close friend, and quickly abandoned my notes. I did manage to record a few key answers from both Isabelle and Mark during our lovely conversation though. Read on...
Originally from Winnipeg, Mark is an accomplished sound engineer and musician, and DJ, and basically involved in anything musical. Isabelle is from Scotland and has developed a  successful fashion line, for sale at Tait (330 Cordova St) and One of a Few (354 Water St).  http://www.isabelledunlop.com/
Mark lists The Verve, Oasis, Tears for Fears, and Jonsi among his strongest influences, mentioning that Sigur Ros "saved his life" because they showed him that "music can be beautiful" rather than the typical Vancouver rock scene. (Sigur Ros has been making beautiful music for a decade and a half.) Isabelle cited The Beatles, The Beach Boys, The Police, Bethoven, Jonsi and the Royal Conservatory as her musical influences.
Mark has been making music for 22 years (although I'm guessing he's been musically inclined since birth) and Isabelle says she's been musical for 4 years, and it's obvious that creativity comes natural to her in any capacity.

As we finished our conversation, I could tell Isabelle was extremely excited (and not just because it was their anniversary that evening) to perform as Combine the Victorious with her husband Mark. She told me she couldn't wait to get up on stage, and has been loving the last few months of consecutive shows.
Thank you to Isabelle and Mark for taking the time to speak to me and answer my questions. You are lovely people with fantastic music (which i shamelessly promote).

Current Soundtrack: what i'm listening to right now: The Morning Benders' 'All Day Day Light' - a definite summer song. The reason I think they're cool: I first heard them while perusing music in Rough Trade in East London. Rough Trade has headphones all around the store attached to new, cool music. Just so happens The Morning Benders are on Rough Trade's record label. When I got back to Vancouver I was on the good 'ol 250, and a guy was carrying the vinyl of their album Big Echo, and I though, 'well heck, that's a sign that i gotta get into these guys'.
The Morning Benders - check them out.
